Meet Maquette
ART DIRECTOR. PROJECT MANAGER. LEAD ARTIST
I'm a multi-media artist based in Jamaica. My practice is deeply rooted in the disciplines of fashion, performance, artistic research, re-examining history, and free expression/civil society, each playing a crucial role in shaping the cultural landscape of my local setting. By integrating these themes, my work not only reflects but also actively engages with the vibrant community around me.
As a dynamic form of self-expression, fashion allows individuals to communicate their identities and cultural heritage. My practice involves curating fashion shows and exhibitions that
showcase local designers and traditional attire, thereby promoting the rich sartorial heritage of Jamaica. By collaborating with local artisans, I support the preservation and evolution of traditional crafts, linking the past with contemporary trends.
Through performances, such as dance and body painting, I create immersive experiences that engage audiences on a multisensory level. These performances often draw on local
folklore and contemporary issues, providing a platform for community storytelling and artistic expression.
With each project I explore and document the historical and cultural narratives that shape our society. This research underpins my body of work, offering viewers deeper insights into the art and culture of Jamaica. This deeper insight involves re-examining historical narratives in the post-colonial society Jamaica. Through curated exhibitions and public discussions, I aim to challenge and reinterpret historical events and figures, fostering a more inclusive and accurate representation of our past. This approach encourages critical thinking and dialogue within the community.
Promoting free expression and supporting civil society are foundational to my work. MUSE serves as a safe space for artists and community members to express their views and engage in open dialogue. By hosting events and exhibitions that address social issues, we contribute to a culture of free expression and civic engagement.

Meet Tajha
ASSISTANT ART DIRECTOR. MARKETING STRATEGIST
I'm a Freelance 2D animator, Digital Marketer and illustrator hailing from St. Catherine Jamaica. I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Animation from the University of the West Indies, complemented by a Digital Marketing certification from Google and completed courses in Business Analytics. My illustrious career spans over six years, during which I have freelanced as an animator and illustrator for both local and international clients and been active in various Non-profits in Jamaica and the United Kingdom.

My work stems from a desire to impact the lives of children and wider society with beautiful, approachable work that reflects the diversity and richness of both the Caribbean and the wider world. I consider myself a nomad- always travelling to various locations to explore the art and culture there in order to bring a broader perspective to my work.
My creative prowess has garnered recognition locally, regionally, and internationally, with her short films showcased at prestigious events such as Animae Caribe and ConchShell International Film Festival. Notably, I was one of three animators chosen to develop an animated short for Sesame Street's number of the day block, focusing on manatees. I also participated in a nine-month mentorship program through the UK ScreenCraft Works initiative, where she advocated for addressing barriers to access industry-standard software, particularly for animators in the Caribbean. Recently, I had the privilege of representing Jamaica alongside UNESCO in France, engaging in cultural exchange with the creative city of Enghien les Bains, with a focus on animation.
Currently, I volunteer at Reconnect JA: a Non-Profit dedicated to bridging the gap between 2nd and 3rd gen Jamaican youth in the Diaspora and Jamaica.
